We’re fixing it! In just 18 months, Momentum Transfer has gone from spinout to seed-funded startup to the go-to platform for synchrotron-quality powder X-ray diffraction as a service. More than 2,300 researchers already rely on us to push their work forward. Now we're bringing that capability to mining – where understanding mineralogy isn't academic, it's the difference between a profitable operation and a write-off.

The Mindset
This role is for someone who loves the hunt. You'll identify mining projects wrestling with hard mineralogical problems, build relationships with the technical people who feel those problems most acutely, and close deals that turn into long-term partnerships. Do not expect many inbound enquiries or existing accounts. You should know what is necessary to get this market to notice you and our product. We're looking for somebody who gets energized by landing new logos, finds satisfaction in a complex technical sale, and knows that the best mining deals are built on trust and credibility – not slick pitches.
Who this is for
You have significant experience selling analytical laboratory services to the mining industry – ideally the kind of work where samples ship to a lab and results ship back. You've sold to metallurgists, process engineers, and technical consultants. You've built books of business before. Your track record speaks for itself – you've consistently delivered €1M+ in annual sales, and you've done it by finding and winning new business, not by inheriting accounts. Ideally, you've worked in battery minerals – lithium, nickel, cobalt, graphite – or other high-value commodities where mineralogy directly determines product value. You don't need a PhD. You need a technical foundation, a proven sales track record, deep industry relationships, and a genuine drive to win.
The Role
We're looking for a hunter to build our mining business globally. You'll identify opportunities, build relationships with metallurgists and consultants, and close deals ranging from €10k troubleshooting projects to €100k+ feasibility programs. This is a quota-carrying, new-business-focused role – not account management.
Your day-to-day will include: Market Development & Prospecting Technical Sales Conversations Pipeline & Deal Management Relationship Building Industry Presence Account Expansion You'll work remotely with significant travel – 30-50% of your time at conferences, client sites, and mine visits. You'll have autonomy to build the business any way that works, with support from the founders and a stellar technical team that delivers exceptional work and a company that's growing fast.
What we’re looking for
5+ years selling analytical lab services to mining – Not equipment, not field services – laboratory work. Sample-in, results-out. XRD or mineralogy experience strongly preferred. €1M+ annual sales track record – Deals you hunted and closed, not accounts you inherited. Technical credibility with metallurgists and geologists – You understand the mine lifecycle, feasibility process, and why mineralogy matters. You speak their language. Battery minerals or high-value ore experience – Lithium, nickel, cobalt, graphite, rare earths – commodities where phase identification determines product value. Hunter DNA – Energized by new logos. Comfortable with rejection. You build business, not manage it.
